My newly acquired older hen (3 years old) I believe is a sex link chicken. I don't believe she has produced eggs for a while, is it still safe to give her the layer pellets and oyster shell? If she doesn't produce any eggs it's fine with me, but I want her to be healthy. Right now she is in an isolation cage, but we will be putting her in a fenced area separated from the 4 10 week olds. The fenced area is a good 20'x40' and has lots of grass and bugs.
