Older Hens to younger flock

I am thinking about getting two laying hens to add to a flock of eight week old pullets. I see lots of posts about adding new chicks to existing older flocks but not the opposite. Do you do it the same way?

I would imagine it wouldn't be such a problem as the other way around. It would probably be done the same way, though.

If you have them all together, what will you feed them? Don't they require different feeds, at different ages?

I've read that it is ok for the hens to eat chick feed but make sure to give them extra calcium because chick feed is lacking for layers.

I give mine 20% lay granules it id fine for both

You are going to have the same issues, but some flock dynamics will be more in your favor. You are adding older birds, fewer in number, into the younger birds territory. I find this article to be very good information on what you want to do.
