My mom has a peacock that is about 2 years old now. she just got a peahen that is about 1 year old. can they be put together? or is the female still to small for him? they are afraid he will hurt or kill her if their together. Thnaks for all the help in advance :)

I would put her in a pen with a fence between them for about a week then in the wee hours of the morning right at daylight put them together, however if you have an extra pen you might be able to put them both in together and be ok as the new pen will be new to them both and they are not likely to worry about each other as much as where they are now.

I agree, putting them in a new pen usually works fine, i have some yearlings hens with adult peacocks they all doing fine, you just need to wait after putting them together and see is everything okay.

A yearling hen is definetly *big* enough to go in with a 2 year old male, so you don't have to worry about the size difference, but don't just stick them together and walk away.
