Olive Egger laying brown eggs?

Well on the opposite side, I have a beautiful production red hen, classic colorization of a production red hen. Red and white... just a pullet - fantastic layer of GREEN eggs!

Did you get her from tractor supply or Hoovers? 2 of the easter eggers I brought last year were reddish brown hens that looked like they could be mixed with Rhode island red at some point that laid green eggs

I the our feed store does use hovers.

Sounds like they either had a mislabel or a mix up then, but she is almost certainly their version of an easter egger

Hi all,

I was told my hen is an olive egger(Cream Legbar crossed with Blue Splash Maran) but today she laid her first egg and it's a dark brown( pic of egg to the far right, the lil one). Does that mean she's not a true olive egger?

I know this post is a little older but I had the same experience! Apparently the blue egg gene is recessive compared to brown egg gene, I had a roo that was a cross like yours and also a hen and all my EEs look exactly like your pictures. I just made a post about breeding the roo and brown egg laying olive egger and now the babies lay green eggs haha
