Back again with a couple of 8 week old olive eggers. The darker one I feel fairly confident is a pullet, but the white one has me second-guessing. The pea comb appears to be single row without any darkening red coloration nor larger size. Feathers appear more rounded than pointy….but the tail! Totally curving down.
We think she had a rough start (we got “her” at 3 weeks old), so maybe her tail is just not developing quite yet? Would love to hear thoughts.
A side note: we’ll be introducing these to two pullets and a rooster who are about 2 months older. We’ve had them hanging out in this separate area just outside the big run so they can all see each other. I read introducing them at night is a good first step toward actual integration. Any other recommendations? I’m mostly worried about the roo since he’s been very hormonal lately and even his 2 pullets are avoiding him it seems.
