Unfortunately, our Olive Egger cockerel is being too aggressive toward the ladies. We have a very small flock (5), and I just don’t have the capacity to keep him out and maintain separate living quarters to ease the pullets.

He isn’t overly aggressive toward me, and enjoys treats, but he has started to challenge me more often, especially when I shelter the ladies from his aggression.

I believe he is a Legbar mix. He is a handsome young dude, and we really wanted to try and make it work with him (he was a surprise in our initial chick batch), but we can’t have him being mean to the hens.

Handsome fellow! Hope you find a good home for him!

Thankfully, we found a home for him today!! We’ll be dropping him off on Friday to join a flock of 46 hens and a couple of other roosters on 20 acres. Hopefully he figures out pecking order fast and lives a wonderful life being a gorgeous roo. He’ll be missed, but thank you for any and all of the well wishes/good thoughts/vibes for finding him a new home!

Oh that's wonderful!
