I have a super sweet Olive Egger chick that is looking more like a roo everyday. Only about 8.5 weeks but the tail sticks up more than my hens and it has a tiny comb that sticks up a bit. No pink, it’s flesh and black colored. This chick is all black and if you look closely has brown lacing designs on the feathers. It's got the fluffy cheeks.
If it is a rooster. Is there any value in him as far as a breeder? Since it has a straight up type comb (I’m not fluent in comb types) it probably doesn’t have the blue egg gene? Just would be a brown egg gene giver? Any value in him? I’ve tried to follow the Olive Egger thread and I get lost. I hate for the possible “him” to have to go into a soup pot, it’s so sweet and greets me every time I come out. It’s a beautiful chicken.
