I think it’s safe to say this chick is NOT a silverudd!

But since there’s been a mix up, I’m curious about this chick’s comb. Pea comb? If so, how does one tell if a chick with a pea comb is a hen or roo? It’s so much easier with single combs!

I am assuming the chick is an olive egger, it has feathered legs, baby pink toes, and this wide flat comb.

This is a pea comb (cockerel). I was thinking rose comb? Even though it looks a little different from my Wyandottes (pullet) comb.

This is my Olive Egger Rooster on the right, and my OE hen on the left when they were about a month old. They are BCM/Amerecauna cross and were hatched out of a dark brown egg. Not even sure if that plays a factor in their feathering or not lol.

I ended up with 2 OE roosters, and I wasn't able to tell on these by the comb. But looking back now, the rooster combs were a tab bit bigger than my hens was. When they were about 2 months old, the roosters started getting their turquoise colored saddle feathers in and as soon as I saw that peeping through I knew.
