Olive Eggers

Thank you! I was worried I didn't get Olive Eggers. Still not sure if they're actually pullets!

Yep. They can look different because "olive egger" is not really a breed. My olive eggers now are straight combed, and they do lay olive eggs. I also had a real cute olive egger with heavily feathered feet named Doodle, but never confirmed he was an olive egger because he didn't lay eggs! 😆

One of the most common olive egger crosses is legbar/marans and that cross should produce 100% single comb chicks and mostly chicks with feathered feet.

My olive egger, Limu, doesn't have feathered feet but is single combed.

And she is a reliable layer of lovely olive eggs (she's also tried to go broody on me twice before her first birthday)

Is it possible for an Olive Egger pulley to have single comb and feathered feet?
Absolutely. Years ago the US Ameraucana Club had a chart that compared breed requirements of Araucana, Ameraucana, and EE's. They had very specific requirements for comb type, muffs, tuffs, eye color, earlobe color, weights, and anything else that made them a breed for the Araucana and Ameraucana. They pretty much said "could be anything" in all categroes for EE's since EE's are not a breed and have no breed requitements. EE is all about egg color, nothing else. OE's are just EE's that lay a darker egg.

Not all breeds that lay blue or green eggs have a pea comb, such as the legbars mentioned above.

Where did you get them? Do you have a link? We might be able to check them out and give you our opinion.
