OMG 1 HATCHED!!!! (pic) & question

5:12 pm ETA: This chick has 2 curled toes on the left leg.

Really hoping it is something that can be treated. Chick is very alert and notices when we are looking in the bator and looks up at us. He/She tries to get around by hopping.

Im so excited!!

There was a pip in 1 egg at about 2:30 ish this morning. Expected to have to wait a long time but my 9 yo dd woke me at 10 saying the chick was out!!

However, my question is.....the other 9 eggs havent pipped. Is there much of chance that they are going to? (This chicks hatch was actually day 23)

The chick is good for a day or two in the incubator, I'd wait and see what the rest of um do. Congratulations on the new addition.

I keep telling my DH that we need to leave some of our bantam cochin eggs to hatch, but he isn't wanting to right now because we just got 12 new chicks and are waiting for 12 more in the next couple of weeks (a neighbor is buying them for us to raise for her). But I REALLY want to let some of ours breed/hatch. We've never done it before.
It's amazing that a living thing can come out of something so little.

I love the bantam cochins. Was really wishing more of the remaining 9 would hatch!! Id take more b. cochins for sure!
