OMG - I have chirpy eggs!

My very first baby chick!!
Congratulations on your first chick!
My first Sulmtaler. This is the first time I left the egg holder tray in during lockdown. I like how the chick is sleeping in the egg hole like it is a nest.
May I ask if you stopped it from turning at Day 18, or did you allow it to continue to turn up until hatch? I ask because I just read where another member allowed turning during "lockdown" with great results.

I wrote a custom program on my RCom with the humidity at 42% from day 0-16, temperature 99.5, turning every hour 90 degrees. At day 17, the turner was programmed to automatically turn off. On day 17, the humidity was raised to 60% and the temperture lowered to 99.0 degrees. So I began lockdown at day 17. The last batch of eggs (Bielefelders) I set hatched 1 day early using these settings with 9 of 12 shipped eggs hatching.

On the RCom, it technically would not matter if you let the egg turner run longer due to its design. All it would do is move any hatched chicks back and forth. It's one of the safest designs I have seen in an incubator. I really like this incubator since it is really easy to clean and you can add water from the outside without having to open the incubator.
