OMG! My chicks are on the way!

I'm so excited and nervous! Keep getting text updates from the USPS about chicks arriving at progressively closer post offices! I feel like an expectant parent! OMG! So nervous, it's cold outside, will they be okay, will they eat, drink... In a tizzy here!

Congrats! You have your brooder set up? I like to turn on my heat source days in advance to monitor temps so I can adjust if needed.

Yep, brooder set up. Chicks STARVING when they first got in, so I put some chick starter crumbles and GroGel in for them. Seemed more hungry than thirsty, but drinking too. Their little personalities are already beginning to show!!!

It is a bit of a strange concept for me to send chicks through mail, but I see it's common practice in the US. Then again my country is muuuuch smaller and we have farms around every corner I drove 1,5 hours one way to pick up mine, because I wanted to get them from a professional looking chicken farm which had been passed on from generation to generation and even then people declared I was mad to drive that far!
