I think Southernchick had a good idea. I spent many summers stuck 10 miles out in the boondocks with nothing to do because no one would take me to town. I made things out of the red mud I found. Wove vines. Searched for fossils. I made a "fort" out of fallen trees, firewood (yes, I had to put it back) and big rocks. I found every hidden crick, hidden spot and beautiful spot there was. I know that area like the back of my hand. Now 25 years later I visit my old play grounds at least once a year. The house & barn are torn down and everything is different but MY memorable places remain because they were natural. To this day those old haunts are my most treasured places. Believe me back then all I wanted to do was get away from there and now I drive nearly 2 hours to run to those spots just to get away from everyday life.
