On day 18, in what position should my chicken egg lay?

I have an x and a y marked on my eggs, can I let them lay in any one of these positions?

Yep. If they are incubated on their sides then lay them on their sides for incubation. If they were upright during incubation then it's best to hatch in egg cartons.

thats the first I have heard that!! I incubate in a turner, but lay them down for hatching...of course my last hatch was my first on my own and first ever we used the turner, so...
