One baby hatched and fell out of box so mom followed it and made a nest on poop. What should I do?

My hands first check fell out of the brooding box onto the floor. The mother followed it and left the eggs. There was lots of straw under the box, but she chose to find a corner of chicken poop to take her baby to sit on. I was afraid to pick up the hen so I put her eggs around her and she put them under her, but I’m worried because she is sitting in a pile of poop with her one life baby for sure…. Should I go ahead and move the whole project even though it ruffles her feathers?

I have a big rooster in my pen so I moved my body hen and her one chick but one hatched as we moved her and the mama didn’t except it but has hatched and excepted four more so I would move the mama as long as there are no eggs hatching that moment

Oh yes you should! Get someone to help you get some gloves so if she pecks you it won't hurt. Have the area you are going to place her ready. Pick her up and have someone else pick up the baby/babies and place the babies where you want them then momma. Then you can move any eggs. Just be careful when you pick up momma as chicks can be under her wings and may fall out as you move her. Best to lift her and if the chick isn't there kinda open her wings and the chic will fall out. Good luck
