We have seven chicks. We purchased a "rainbow pack" so we don't know breeds, but we are starting to be able to guess. One is MUCH smaller than the others and looks to me to perhaps be a Welsummer bantam.

My question is-- will the other hens be okay with her, or will they pick on her due to her being so much smaller? So far, they are not in any way being mean to her, but she does seem to be more of a "loner" than the others.

In terms of other hens my bantams are fine. Since they were raised together.

I do have to watch my to make sure they are able to get away from my full size rooster though. One is good at finding tight spaces. The other flies up onto the henhouse roof.

Other than that, no problems.

That being said, you are dealing with individuals and that can complicate things.

Soem birds may,but it’s no guarantee.I have introduced a single bantam into the flock.Since their raised together her size will probably be adaptable and they won’t care, who knows, she might be your lead hen.
