Hi everyone! I have four six week old chicks and three four week old chicks. One of them is feathering very differently. I’m thinking I have a roo. Here’s the differences I see: much stronger legs (I hold them several times a day so they get used to me), smooth looking feathers (like a sparrow so I named him Jack), walks upright, has very pronounced feather clumps on either side of the front shoulders, has wing feathers coming in that are growing out at the top, slight reddish where the wattles will be, and his bum…..no soft feathering that wraps around to the back, still fluff and today I notice a stripe of parallel fin feathers all the way up the back with the vent on top. The breed is a Barnavelder. Let me know what you think.
