Two of our hens went broody. One hen had two eggs hatch. One chick didn’t survive. Yesterday my husband found the hen stomping on the last chick, so I removed the chick. Thankfully the chick is okay, but now all alone. Poor thing chirped most of the night. I’m wondering if I should combine it with the other hen and chicks. Those chicks are about a week older than the single chick. Will they attack it?

From my experience it depends on the chicks, when I combined younger chicks with older ones they were fine, but I would keep an eye on them to see how they treat the little chick.

Thank you! What should I look out for? What would be considered normal behavior?
