I make my husband hold them while I put the band-aid on their legs...the bantams are a little harder than the slightly larger standard chicks...they will tip over and have trouble for a little bit because their leg muscles are weak and not used to being in the correct position. This is where the deep litter & being separated is important! I make a little "cup" and sit the chick upright in it. I hand water & feed it and keep an eye on it. I also take it out & "exercise" it's legs--very gently move them back & forth (forward & backward) a few times a day. Usually, within a day they are standing, although wobbly. Within another day they have adapted and seem to be feeling pretty cool about their accomplishment! LOL By the time the sticky comes off the band-aid, they are usually fixed.
This is something that will not correct itself and needs to be fixed ASAP.
