One duck biting my older ducks

I have 8 ducks total. 2 pekins, 4 khakis, 1 buff and 1 blue swedish. The 2 pekins and 1 buff are around 2 to 2 and a half months old. My khakis are around 4 to 5 weeks old. One of those khakis is biting at the older 3. Lots of space for them to move around. Does it in the pool and when they eat and drink. What do I do to prevent this? Sorry first time duck ower.

It may be early aggression between the males, do you know how many males/females you have? Males at that age will make raspy/peeps/whistle while the females will quack.

For sure one of the pekins is male but we are still not 100% on the other. The buff is female. Not sure on the younger ones.

Is this full-on fighting or just a few pecks between each other now and then?

I wouldn't say its fighting. The pekins and buff kind of just chase the little one off but the little one just keeps coming back for more. The older ones never bite back.

I wouldn't be concerned then unless they are physically hurting each other, a little bit of pecking isn't that uncommon. You can try to reduce it though by providing plenty of space and keeping them occupied with a kiddie pool/pond and treats.

Thanks for the info Master! I'll keep a close eye on it. I just hate that that 1 pekin has a red spot where its been biting it.

I didn't realize damage was being done, poor thing! Could you separate the mean with the other ducklings he is getting along with? Are you providing multiple water/feed bowls so they don't have to fight over it?

Yeah they have 2 15 pound hanger feeders and 2 3.5 gallon water bowls. Plus the pool.

I wouldn’t worry to much my little monsters do the same thing for years, It’s kinda like little kids in school seeing who’s the toughes.
