A 3rd one is breaking the shell!

Yeahhhh!!!! It's so much fun to watch them start to break through!

One ? do they have to break through the big end of the shell where the air sack is first so they can get air or can they start anywhere? The first one made a little crack in the top side, nothing since. The 2nd one is coming through the end, the 3rd through the side.

Usually they crack the shell about 1/3 of the way down from the aircell end tip. Sometimes they pip in the wrong place. Not much you can do about it except hope it makes it out.

congrats! I just love baby chicks they are so cute. Good luck with your hatch we will want pics. So get that camera ready

One hatched ! Its out of the eggs chirping and resting. One lonely chick. The others have not done anymore. I may have to call around tomorrow and see if I can buy 1 baby chick so this one isn't lonely.
