Went I went to put my chickens in for the night I discovered one of my hens had died. Another was very lethargic. I age her a few drops of polyvisol and will start in on the fluids in the morning. What could cause the one to die this suddenly? I’m fearing it could be West Nile or something. I don't believe it's an age related death because they're both different ages...

You will have to give much more detailed information on the circumstances your birds lived in previous symptoms , weather conditions feed etc if we are even to help you guess at what has happened to your bird and why the ohter one is lethargic.

It's to late. I found the other one dead this morning in the nest. I called the county to have them come out and test them.

So sorry to hear this. Please let us know what they conclude. I hope any others you have will be alright. Best possible nutrition crucial right now.

Thank you for your support. The county will come out on Monday and test the ones still alive for bird flu and then take the two bodies and perform an autopsy. Hopefully nothing contagious.

Ok, so the results are in. It wasn't avian flu or nothing contagious. One of the hens die from an infection in the uterus. The other one died from a twisted intestine. Kind of weird they died around the same time though. Gave us quite a scare.

that is the nice thing about necropsies... this way you know for sure if you are dealing with something infectious or not ... tg it was nothing infectious to your other birds!
