One Hen Went Broody but Others Didn't Lay

So a hen went broody in the 1st favorite nesting box. The hens have 2 boxes they like to lay in. However yesterday (2nd day of hen being broody) the other 5 didn't lay in the box.

Do you think they found someplace in the yard or did they not lay at all?

If your broody hen is the alpha hen then she could possibly be a deterrent to the others laying the second favourite nest.

Hmm, I don't know which hen is the alpha. We know who the lowest one on the totem pole is, though. They may be trying to establish a new order as two of my sister's hens were killed with two or three weeks of each other. The recent one was killed last week by a raccoon.
