I use to do this but it may not be a good idea. I would go to the local bait shop and bring home "goodies" for my babies. Is that okay? It shouldn't hurt them with parasites or anything should it?

I haven't done it myself but I've read were others have gone and gotten minnow and such for their chickens and ducks (especially ducks) without any side effects. Just be sure that they are clean and from a reputable supplier.

One of my friends has tried bait worms twice has woken up to dead birds twice. (They weren't chickens) I think she got hers from wal-mart. If it's from a bait shop maybe it would be different?
