I have 5 Austalorps and one of them is broody and will not get out of the nesting box! Even if I collect the eggs, she still sits there, no food, no water. I've been making her get outside (physically move her out of the coop!) so she eats and drinks, once a day or so. How long does this last for? My little daughter usually likes to collect the eggs but with her laying there, it makes it hard! Thanks!

One of our Rhode Island Reds did this for several weeks until we put her in a separate cage, one that allowed air to flow underneath her. Within 2 days she was back to normal and hanging with the rest of the girls. Good luck to you.
