Hi, We picked up 13 baby chicks last Saturday. They were born Tuesday and Wednesday, so they are all just over a week old. One Black Australorp is now having what looks like seizures. I heard louder then normal chirping and looked and say it thrashing around. I thought it maybe was just playing or it had been picked on. She sopped and stood still and then walked around so I went back to work. But I heard it again, looked, same thing. I started watching and this happen every minute or so. I didn't want to others around her when it happened and I didn't know if this meant she was sick, so I put her in a separate box, with water and heat light. It continued to happen, but between she was so upset trying to get out. I waited about an hour. The seizures stopped. That would have been around 7:00 pm. Went to bed at 11:00 still all quiet. Now this morning she is doing it again. I have seen posts for nutrition support, but they all seem to be with older chicks. What can we do for a week old bay chick. Video won't attach, but can email possibly to anyone who may have some advise

Hard to know what's happening with her. It's interesting that she didn't seem to have any episodes during the night.

I'd start her on Vitamin E (400IU) and 1/4 tablet B-Complex daily. Give a little mushed up scrambled egg daily as well.

She's doing it when alone too, so no chick is picking at her. Have you checked to make sure there's not a bug getting on her, like an ant that is biting?

Is there anything that may be "coincidental", like she's in the same area of the brooder when she thrashes about, has she just ate/drank...anything that you find that may be connected?
