Only 1 baby chick hatched

We had 12 eggs and knew only 1 would hatch so we went out today and purchased 10, one day old chicks so it would have the company. Will my new hatched chick be ok to stay in the incubator alone for 24 hours or should I put something in the incubator to make him less lonely?

If you know the others wont hatch there is no reason to leave the one you have in the incubator for so long, as soon as he is dry and fluffy get him out.

If none of the other eggs have externally pipped there is no reason to worry about the humidity, if they have, get a spray bottle and do a couple fo squirts into the incubator just before you close it up, and the humidity will go straight back up.
