I have a 1 week old baby chick that has had problems from day one. It has sprawed leg and crocked foot that has now been taken care of and is walking and eating great. While in the incubator the chick had rubbed its belly of all its fluff but as of this morning it was looking great. I came home tonight and found it oozing green gunk from its belly. It seems to have an open oozing stomach area. Does anyone has any idea on what I could do for it. I am trying a homeopothy(sp?) remedy and thought maybe I should bandage the area. I dont know if thats even possible. Any idea's would be great.

I have no idea. I don't think its even the spot that was injured in the incubator. She seems to be acting fine. 11 babies and she's my favorite. I will try the medicine. Thanks

I'v read that sometime chick have what they call "Rough Naval" do a search here on BYC pages first and see if you can find out more info! Post picks if you have any, that always helps us try and either figure it out or point you in the right direction of someone who can! Good Luck

Eating and drinking good. I will try to get a picture on here.

Couldn't figure out how to put the picture on so that was the best I could do. Yes it is scary, and looks disgusting . It has dried up some, not draining very much now.She was with another chick that I have removed so now she is can rest and get better. She has had such a hard life and is only 7 days old. She is walking around and eating great. If anyone has any other ideas please let me know, if not just pray for her. Our family will miss her greatly if God choose to take her home.
