OK..I can't find my answer through searches, so I'm asking a new question. I candled my eggs tonight, which are BO hatching eggs I bought and had shipped. By my estimates, they are on Day 3 now, and like so many before me, been itching to candle since day 1! So, during my candling (bright LED headlamp light as source, under box w/ quarter-sized hole, in dark room) I saw some good development (I think), didn't really run into any clear ones, but I ran into one that wouldn't let light pass through! I tried repositioning the egg, no joy. Any thoughts?
FYI: I am using a homemade bator.

One thing you should do is sit on those hands till day seven. YOu can't see much before then anyhow and it saves on maybe damaging the eggs with opening the bator to often. I know it's hard! I went through the same thing and found that If I only candled on day 7, 14 and 18 I had WAY better hatch rates

So sit on those hands YOUNG UN!

BTW...leave all eggs in until day 14, that way you know for sure.

In answer to your question, No I did not candle them before I set. That would have been a good thing to do, so I would have something to compare it to.
Yes, I'm going to wait more until I candle them. I think I can wait 10 more days!
