Open duck run

Hi! We have been planning on building a duck run that is four feet high, with hot wire ran along the top and bottom of the outside to deter predators such as racoons and foxes. Do you think this is a safe option, or should we cover the entire run with wire mesh? Any suggestions are appreciated!

Both my Chicken run and Duck run are covered........I would cover yours also......

I never had an issue with a fox or anything else going into their pen when I had my girls penned up. They had a 4' fence and strands of electric fencing going around.

I'm worried about hawks so our duck run is covered. It has rabbit wire/utility mesh (?) on the lower four feet and heavy-duty bird netting on the top. Our 5 ducks are only 6 months old but we haven't had a problem thus far.
