1) What type of bird , age and weight.
She is supposed to be a RIR, but is a "mutt"... more buffy red with black on her. She'll be 10 weeks old tomorrow. Unsure of weight, but looks healthy

2) What is the behavior, exactly.
She is breathing with her mouth open a lot. I still have her in the house [coop almost finished], so I know that it is not too hot for her. It looks like she is gulping every once in awhile. I have looked in her mouth while she does this, and there are no signs of worms. She does not have snot, or runny eyes. Another of the chicks has started doing it, too.. but, not as bad. Just every once in awhile. Her breathing seems sort of labored.

3) Is there any bleeding, injury, broken bones or other sign of trauma.
No

4) What happened, if anything that you know of, that may have caused the situation.
?

5) What has the bird been eating and drinking, if at all.
She is eating like a pig. I haven't seen her drink, so I got some Apple Cider Vinager, and put it in some water and kept dipping her beak in it, until I felt like she had drank. She has access to grit. Besides the medicated Starter Crumbles, I have given them pieces of baby spinach, the yogurt mix (yogurt, applesauce, vitamin E & crumbles). A few days ago I gave her green beans from my garden. I cut them into tiny pieces... I thought maybe they could be lodged in there, but her crop is always full, because she eats all the time.

6) How does the poop look? Normal? Bloody? Runny? etc.
Fluctuates from green and fizzy looking to normal. I took a video of her, and as I picked her up to put her away, she left me a present on the table:

It sounded sort of farty when she pooped, if that helps.

7) What has been the treatment you have administered so far?
Apple Cider Vinager in her water, probiotic powder added to the yogurt mix, keeping the bedding completely changed every 2 days... I also massage her neck, because it feels like there is stuff in it... she usually gulps when I do this, and then will keep her mouth shut for awhile... her crop is very full.... I massaged it, and i heard a gurgle sound and she pooped....

8 ) What is your intent as far as treatment? For example, do you want to treat completely yourself, or do you need help in stabilizing the bird til you can get to a vet?
I'll do what I can for her... She is in good spirits, and "talks" a lot... will sit in my lap and coo. She doesn't SEEM sick, except for her mouth hanging open, and seemingly labored breathing, every once in awhile. She is running and playing, roosting... loves to be pet...

9) If you have a picture of the wound or condition, please post it. It may help.
i'm uploading one, now... it will take a few...

10) Describe the housing/bedding in use
She is still inside, in a brooder we made. The bedding is wood shavings. (Aspen).

Here is the video of her breathing Excuse the house... I'm spending a whole bunch of time trying to finish my coop, and you know how it is...

Thank you for taking the time to provide answers. I wish I could agree that this was just an obstruction from the green beans but, "Another of the chicks has started doing it, too.. but, not as bad. Just every once in awhile. Her breathing seems sort of labored." I can't.

That another has started with similar behavior (separate that one as well) isn't encouraging.

Besides Gapeworm/injury/obstruction, two common diseases would be

Mycoplasma gallisepticum

http://www.worldpoultry.net/health-...crd-mycoplasma-airsacculitis-mg-ms-mm-62.html

laryngotracheitis

http://www.ces.ncsu.edu/depts/poulsci/tech_manuals/laryngotracheitis.pdf

I'm hopeful other members can suggest something less onerous.

Good Luck!

See, I don't know about those two sicknesses, because they aren't having any discharge out of their nostrils. Their eyes aren't watery or running...
I don't even know what to do. If they die, my kids are going to be so upset... (as will we, of course.)
I was reading those links, and IF it is those sicknesses, could we get that Tylan stuff & give it to them?

The site says:
Signs include coughing, tail bobbing when breathing, emaciation, rales sneezing, open mouth breathing, poor growth, decreased feed consumption

But, there is no coughing, tail bobbing, emaciation, poor growth... they all eat Allllllllllll the time... I held her up to my ear, and there are no crackling sounds when she breathes. The only common thing is the breathing and the sneezing... which, they do every once in awhile... not all the time... I was hoping it was because the litter is dusty... (I know, because my house has had a film layer on it ever since we got them.)
I have seen them eat peices of their bedding, too...
I may just be in denial... but, I am hoping if I get that Tylan stuff, it'll help?
I bought bird vitamins and fed them to her... I do the ACV, clean their water a couple times a day... I try to keep them really clean...
I am feeling guilty and I don't know what to do...

Oh, and to clarify... the 2nd one's breathing seems fine. When i said her breathing seems labored, I was talking about #1... you can see on the video what I am talking about... the other ones are totally fine...
Do I need to separate these two? I'm not going to be able to sleep tonight...

Just watched your video. Do you have a stethoscope? Listen for any wheezing/gurgling when she breathes. That is NOT what I've seen in `Open Mouthed Breathing' which is: Hen opens beak, stretches neck forward, inhales, relaxes (exhales), closes beak, repeats; Each And Every Breath. Your pullet is not doing this (we lost a BSL to cancer and I saw this for weeks before she finally died).

The reason I suggested the above diseases is owing to your describing another having started (sorry if I didn't parse that correctly). And, yes, usually this will occur in concert with other symptoms, but not always.

Just keep an eye on them, you sound like you're doing just fine at present. Check them after they go to roost and observe (the second sufferer) to see if her breathing is different from the others. Also check your confined girl to see if she breathes the same way while sleeping. As there are no other symptoms (and from what I've seen on the vid. -Thank you so much for posting that! - I'd just keep a close eye for anything else untoward and not worry too much at present).

i watched your video and honestly do not see a sick hen. Chickens will open their beak if they are warm or stressed or if things are a bit different. The poo doesn't look abnormal. That's what i get when i bring a chicken in to bath it or do something to it - out shoots a watery green discharge.

It sounds like your chickens are still in the house, in a brooder, or is it just this one? Perhaps there is a bit of an allergic reaction to the shavings. My only suggestion would be to switch them out to just newspapers with paper towels over top for a day and see if the sneezing stops.

i may be way off base, but if your girl is eating, drinking and pooping, i think she is fine.
