Opened the eggs to see what was happening/not happening

Okay.. so my batch of 16 eggs that I felt so hopefull about.. half tuxedo and half goldens... 2 hatched day 17.. both tuxedo and doing fine.. jerks but fine
Anyway..so just broke open the eggs that didn’t hatch and all never developed at all. Just yellow yoke.
So what exactly does that mean on my end? Like the eggs maybe were not fertile to begin with? Or is it a cause in shipping? ‍

It may very likely be that the shipping damaged the eggs irreparably so that they did not develop.

My guess is you got a bunch of non fertile eggs sent to you.

Where did you order them from?

@Texas Kiki ... it’s always possible I guess no matter where you get them from.. that those particular ones were not fertile... that batch came from KC Quail farm.
It takes a few days to get here and it was in the 100s... who knows??
Just wasn’t sure if the regular looking egg/yoke thing was an indication of anything specific.
So really it could be infertile or just super rough handeling??

@Texas Kiki ... it’s always possible I guess no matter where you get them from.. that those particular ones were not fertile... that batch came from KC Quail farm.

If you see zero redness then I vote infertile.

@Texas Kiki ... nope.. no red at all..nothing.. it literally looked like I was cracking eggs open to make an omelette... it was a bummer.. but also a relief that it wasn’t fully formed chics that couldn’t get out...
And man! With the two that did hatch.. surprised they even made it out!! The shell was so incredibly thick!
Oh well.. we win some.. we lose some.. a new batch from a different supplier on its way and we shall try again

Oh.. meant to post a pic of how thick the membrane/shell was from the two that did hatch... crazy thick!!
