My sweet Darla has been under the weather for awhile now. It started a bit ago with bumblefoot. I thought we had that all taken care of, but she's still not okay. Pale comb and wattle. Droopy feathers. Not very active. Today she was just standing with her eyes closed. We had to treat them for worms due to another flock member...I feel like we just can't catch a break this year. We've had chickens for over 3 years and are still learning. But this year we've been hit with just about everything sadly. Darla is around a year old, we are free ranging more, and we swapped to a larger coop. I just feel awful for her.

Is she starting to molt or lose feathers? That can cause the comb to become paler when they stop laying and they feel poorly. What did you worm with? Have you examined her skin under her vent and elsewhere for evidence of lice or mites? Has she laid eggs recently? How does the poop look? Can you check her crop in early morning to see if it has emptied overnight, and that it feels up during the day with food and water? If she is not eating well, offer some mushy wet chicken feed and scrambled egg bits. Poultry NutriDrench or other vitamins may help as well.

No molting/feather loss. We wormed with safe-guard/fenbendazole. I'm not seeing any lice or mites currently. She hasn't been laying. I'll check her crop in the morning.
