I don't understand why he got agressive after the broody returned. I have a little 6 month old Silkie cockerel that adores the chicks . I thought maybe it was Silkie cockerel causing the Silkie/Polish cockerel agressive behavior so the Silkie cockerel has been in our enclosed porch for a month . I know it's not space they have a 10 x40 foot coop/ run with a 10 foot attached house .Usually I give immature cockerels in the throes of hormones a little slack. At seven months and after fathering those chicks I think he is past that stage, his instincts are all wrong. I try to solve for the peace of the flock. I don't expect him to get any better as he ages so I'd get rid of him now.
