I agree with roosterhavoc if your going to own chickens it's a great to learn to care for them in a emergency situation. Its no different then a worming preventative or anything else to do with there care

UPDATE: She is making a full recovery. Her eye is starting to open up and she can see out of it. She is growing her feathers back already and running around the yard eating all the weeds and worms she can! Thanks to everyone for the helpful words!

Yay!!! Wonderful! Chickens are some tuff little creatures. Be sure and keep a eye out for infection. So happy for you and your little hen.
