Opossum Necropsy - Graphic

So while that sick and twisted part of me does find necropsies interesting, I don't know enough about zoonotic diseases and think it's probably better to limit my exposure. The only reason I went ahead with the necropsy was that there were two live and healthy looking babies and she had signs of mastitis. I was also very careful and wore a mask and gloves.

True that.. have to be careful messing with dead animals, wild ones in particular.
But I'd have been curious about the momma opossum too. Well obviously I was, cos I'm here..:lau

Thank you @casportpony , very interesting video, worms from stomach to butt. This is one reason you don't want possums around your chickens. The chickens will eat the worms, which will cause problems for them and the obvious, the possum, if large enough will eat your chicken alive, if they think they can.
A hungry possum will hunt in the daytime. And leave worms where ever they spend time.
