Opossums

Personally we don't have weasels here but I have read on this site and other places that they can be relentless once they discover your birds.

Our chickens are penned in a coop at night. I built it myself and it has no gaps and both windows are screened with 1/2" hardware cloth. I've had possums in the run and caught them by hand. They're slow and easy to catch, you just have to get past their ferocious looks and angry hisses and growls. I relocate them rather than kill because they eat ticks, grubs, slugs, snails, mice and other pests, and I have a possum-proof coop. The possum in the pic was alive, and I freed her at the creek at the opposite end of the property. Maybe she'll be back, maybe not. Maybe our dogs will find her first, maybe an owl or coyote.

That said, I have killed umpteen raccoons, a bobcat and three coyotes.
