Orange Comb - Frostbite?

Are orange tips on a single comb a sign of frostbite? I always thought it would turn grey/black. Today is the first day I’ve really been able to observe my girls after that terrible cold snap and a few have orange combs. Anything I should do for them?

The part between the black and the red on his comb, is thar what you're calling orange?

Yes! But mine have no black. They actually look more like that girl in the front there. I can’t tell if hers is that same orange color or not.

These are all males. No female in the pen.

That's the color they turn before the combs die off. Sometimes it heals a bit, but it's likely thsy those orange spots on yours will fall off.

Oh sorry! Still not good at that. I meant that black and white one there. Not even going to try taking a guess at the breed. So interesting! Thanks for the clarification. Poor babies!

That's the color they turn before the combs die off.

No, black indicates necrosis(dying tissue).
The lighter color could be mild frostbite that likely won't die off.

I meant the orange typically turns into the black as it progresses. At least in my birds.
