I was looking at my quails today and noticed that this birds legs are getting really orange. Is this something normal for this type of coturnix or is this even a coturnix at all? Maybe a bob of some sort? Her/his back was naked when I bought it but the feathers are growing in great.

You can see the difference in the leg colors better in this pic.

it looks a lot smaller then the other ones in the pen is it a roo or hen?

I don't know if is a roo or hen. I do know that s/he is younger than the others in the pen by a month or more.

My bobwhites leg's are a grayish color. It isn't a partridge, but the coloring could have been like a coturnix.

Or, maybe it's just a fluke? I've met a chicken with 3 legs before; anything is possible!!!

I really don't think that it could be a button. No were near as small as the buttons I have had. If it is a button s/he is extremely HUGE!!!

The only reason I ask is that we separated the Tennessee red quail from our buttons last week and have finally decided we missed 2 of them.
