I have two ducklings who are pooping like normal babies. It's the normal consistancy and all... it's just orange. I think it's from their food because it turns orange or yellow when its wet sometimes. Is this going to hurt them?

What kind of food are you feeding them? Brand/name?
I have no idea whether orange poo is normal or bad for them, but maybe someone else can help you more if they know exactly what they're eating!
Good Luck!

I think 24% game starter is a bit too high in protein - I'd mix it with an unmedicated chick starter.

I'm no expert, but I'd guess that the orange is undigested protein???

If they don't appear sick and are eating and drinking like normal and the consistency is not overly runny, I think it is probably ok. I had a couple ducklings that were making a sort of orange poop too and I looked it up and found it was just a variation of normal. They were fine and the orange color went away eventually. Keep an eye on them, but don't worry too much unless something else doesn't seem right.

ETA: This was the first time I have raised them on gamebird feed. I wonder if there is something in it that causes this?

How do I tell if it's cecal poop? I'll try to take a picture of some... once I find some. Everyone seems healthy. They eat, drink, poop, peep, poop, eat, poop, drink, poop, etc. We moved them into a dog cage with plastic on three sides last night. We put it in the big ducks' pen with shavings and their own box, feeder, and waterer. They get let out into the big duck pen during the day and locked up at night. This way, they get to forage a bit and meet the big ducks without anyone getting picked on.

Okay... so I went out but couldn't find any poop... orange poop that is. There is lots of normal poop but none that is orange. Anyways, I decided to take some pictures of their food wet and dry to show you what I mean about it. It turns orange and yellow sometimes. Not all of it turns orange and yellow, but some of it does. (I took a picture of their new house too!)

im no expert, but i dont like the way that orange stuff is sort of creating "orange rivers" through the wet food. when i saw the dry food, it looked like the specks of orange were crumbled dry corn kernels, but wet its a whole new story, i'd switch feeds, or at least find out why there are orange spots and and tiny green spots.. seems abnormal to me.
