Orchard grass??

Does anyone give their chickens orchard grass to dig thru? I have been throwing grass clipping into the runs and they love them but the drought is not helping w/ the growth of grass...so I was wondering about that beautiful orchard grass I have seent!

Just be aware, that doing that may cause a crop impaction, because orchard grass is so fiberous. There are pictures on this site where people have performed crop surgery on impacted crops that were full of grass/hay.
