Ok, I really wanted to build one, I even had my shopping list made out, but DH reminded me that we have to do these things this weekend:

Finish the barn siding and stalls, to get our horses and donks out of the rain!
Put up the three gates to open pasture up to new barn section
Put up fencing in new section around barn
Clean the coop
Paint the new fence railing at barn entrance
Get starter feed, set up brooder for the birds that will be here Monday

So I ordered the Hova-bator, large picture window, with circulated air, turner included for $110, brand new.

I won't be ready to set eggs until it gets here anyway and don't have time to build.

I'm so excited, can't wait to pick a few eggs to hatch!

That's what I have and I like it.. If I had my dream bator it would be a sportsman cabinet...but I'll have to win the lottery before that happens!!! I probably don't need to hatch that many eggs anyway!!!!

nccatnip, I ordered from Moyers chicks. I compared prices on 15 sites including shipping, handling, etc for that model, and they had the best price. None of my feed stores carry the big picture window model, only the still air models and no turners.

I'm glad you like yours, my DREAM model is the R-COM 20 digital. I don't want to hatch a whole bunch because I'd have to start selling or giving away real soon.

Next week I'll be up to 45 chicks and I thought I only wanted 10. hee hee I'm addicted...

OOohhh, Jenichick, I wish I had known they had a big picture window 'bator when I bought mine! I got the Hova-Bator forced air, but it's the one with the two little windows. I've been happy enough with it (I actually just posted about it along with you in another thread) but that big window sure would have been a lot more fun at hatch time!

Oh well. Maybe I need another 'bator...one for incubating, one for hatching....hhhmmm.

It's a terrible habit. I got the R-COM20 and it was wonderful for my first hatch, and I already want to hatch more at a time, not that I need to! We're already up to 39 chickens and 3 ducks

VERY BAD ADDICTION!!!

I have 44 chickens, have 7 eggs in the bator, and just ordered silkie eggs (to be shipped tomorrow).
My bator won't have time to cool down.

I'm at day 17.

The first step is admitting you have a problem:

My name is Tammy and I am a hatchaholic!!
