Ordering But What Breed?

OK we want to get some chicks via mail but I need to find the best breed to buy so I thought maybe you guys can help it will be 1 rooster and some fun filler chicks

I am looking for a breed that

1. Is colorful It doesn't have to be a freaking rainbow but not like white or black maybe speckled or laced
2. It has to be BIG like tall and muscular as a rooster and thick as a hen not some itty bitty bantam that's like picking up tissue paper
3. For the most part docile and gets along with others I already have a fairly large flock and fighting gives a map to the stew pot
4. Ok I still have to install a roof on the coop so I don't want eagle chickens that fly around the yard alright? A little intelligence would be great but not necessary I suppose
and finally 5. Nothing that can soar the sky's and be free ok they can fly a little but I don't wanna flip my crap because a giant chicken shadow flew past my window


all of these don't have to apply to the chicken but it would be nice to have a few apply (most of these rules had exaggerations in them if ya couldn't tell

we are considering Ameracaunas from My Pet Chicken some other breed ideas would be interesting though

A multi purpose would be nice but not necessary as long as they are bigger no broilers though

Then you may like Wyandottes, Plymouth rocks, Ameraucanas (or Easter Eggers), Brahmas, Orpingtons, or Sussexs.

Yes! I would add Chanteclers, and non hatchery Marans. Maybe Welsummers too. Different egg colors are very nice, as are different molting schedules in a mixed flock. Mary

Brahmas and Faverolles are pretty and big. Easter Eggers can be very colorful, but there can also be a wide range in size.
