Ordering My Freedom Rangers Soon. Any Advice?

I will hopefully be ordering within the next couple of days. I plan to put them right in their own coop, brood them there and then let them out in the run in a few weeks, then out to free range as they get older. Will they go back in the coop at night like my layers, or are they independent and want to sleep in the trees? (This would be a bad idea since we have a pair of GHOs that live in our grove, not to mention other various nocturnal predators.) I'm trying to research this breed, but have not found anything that tells me what their roosting habits are. Any other suggestions or advice will be welcomed. Thank you.

In looking closer at the hatchery's website, I see they also have black freedom rangers. Has anyone tried these? I think I'd like to order some of each.

The black rangers are new, as are the GMO free red rangers.

I have decided to order some of the red ones, and some of the black ones just to be able to compare the two. It will be fun to see how they turn out.

I ended up ordering 50 chicks - 25 red, 25 black. They will be arriving around the first of May.

Please post your experiences with them. I will be doing a fall batch and am curious how the black ones turn out.
