Every year about this time I think how cool it would be to order some turkeys and have our own next thanksgiving. I was looking at McMurray and they say you have to order minimum 15. I don't want 15 turkey's, just 3 or 4. I do order meat chickens every year. Will they allow you to buy just a few turkey's when you buy chickens? I've wanted a guinea or two as well, but that's another story...

With hatcheries, often the turkeys come from a different location than the chickens do (I ordered turkeys from Ideal once and couldn't even mix heritage with Broad Breasted because they came from different locations). About the only way would be to do a barnyard mix. But if you have a feed store that sells poultry or a local hatchery, a lot of times you can get just a few because they are actually ordering larger lots and 'parting the order out'. Our local feed store often gets guineas in, too. You can also watch local listings for someone hatching them.

They should be able too but call or email first and see. But thats what I did when I ordered from Cackle, I only wanted 10 turkeys so I got 10 and filled the rest of the order with chickens and it worked out great. So it shouldnt be a problem if you want to do that too.
