I used to follow the BYC newsletter years ago when I had up to 8 hens between Rhode Island reds and Leghorns.
I recently decided to get back into it and have 3x6 week old Brahma mixes and 4x2 week old leghorn/Rhode Island Red mixes.
I love wathcing the chicks growing, working in the yard when they are out and about. I also love growing and making their food. Cannot get myself to eat any other eggs.
I am also a gardener, ocean swimmer, bodyworker, Avatar master and aspiring ceremic artist.
I live on the island of Kauai with my husband and a sweet kitty which I found years ago in the chicken pen starving to death.
I love organic and sustainable gardening as a way to care for the land and our oceans.
my yard is also home to a large population of wild chickens, including a hen with 11x2 month old chicks.
