Hi there, I am new to raising chickens(have not actually brought them home yet, doing my research first).
I am looking for good opinions on feed types as I would like to raise them gluten free and organic. I have family members who are allergic to gluten so the chickens cannot have feed that is associated with gluten or bread. The chickens will be primarily for eggs, I have researched and got opinions and will most likely be looking to get Rhode Island Red chickens.

Anyone have any recommendations?

Oh, I'm in Canada. So it would have to be a brand/source I can purchase!

I am new at this myself, but when I started researching, I also started asking where I could get organic and non-gmo feeds when I began finding places to get chickens. I found that most larger retail chains didn't carry it, but smaller, local places did.

If you have a place to buy peeps locally, see if they can get you the organic feeds. Having feed shipped is REALLY expensive.

So I would research "Feed mills" along with your city name to see where you can get started. Also, people who sell feed for horses may also sell for chickens so if you have a place that does a lot of biz for them, they may be able to get feed for you.

The feed I am using is Nature's Grown - http://www.naturesgrownorganics.com/
