Hey! I need some help finding organic quail feed. It really needs to be organic. Also, does the feed for baby quails need to be different then adult feed?
Thanks

Chicks should get about 28% protein. Once they're adults you can lower that to about 20% protein.

I know Hunt & Behrens makes a reasonably priced organic turkey starter, which will work for quail. I'm not sure if they sell that where you are, though.

Thanks! One more question, I'm going to keep them in a fish tank (without water!). Do they need a heat lamp? I'm getting them probably 1-3 weeks old.
And another question, :) where is a good place to get chicks? I live in Illinois, and I am willing to go to neighboring states to pick them up.

If they're 1-3 weeks old, they will still need some heat. They need at least 1 square foot per bird. They will be comfortable at room temperature by 4 weeks.

You might check your local craigslist to see if you can find any locally, otherwise you may want to order hatching eggs.
