Two of my sumatras are broody right now. They're really good moms. They're semi-scared of me usually, but when I come into the coop, they don't bolt off their nests. They just squawk a lot.
I find that they are incredible Mom's, they would kick
T-Rex's but for thier babies....
Mine are still sitting on eggs so they don't have babies to protect yet. But they make such a ruckus if I come in and walk towards them. Squawking, ruffling feathers; I'm surprised I haven't been pecked yet.
Have some "red shouldered" Yokahamas in the nursery. The roos are JUST starting to get their combs. I can not wait to see the tails on these guys. They are a small bodies bird, but the roos are just gorgeous.
My cubalayas are the friendliest birds I have ever seen. I put my hand in the brooder, they walk up to it and immediately go go to sleep when I hold them. When I get home I will take pics. BeUtiful birds!
