Mixed. The longest 8 years but lost a couple much earlier at 4 years. I started out with only 4 and have added over the years, but keep my flock small. They are a heavy breed, you will need to keep roost bars low and watch giving too many treats/snacks. They are VERY cold hardy. 10 degrees is nothing to them, but in the summer you have to be careful of heat stroke. They go broody often.Sounds good! What is your experience with their lifespan?
